Toddler Boy Sets New Record by Reciting Indian States’ Capitals in Just 3 Minutes

Hyderabad, Telangana — On November 26, 2025, Neil Attal — a remarkable 1-year-11-month-old toddler from Hyderabad, Telangana, India — etched his name in record books by reciting the capitals of all 29 Indian states in a breathtaking 3 minutes. The extraordinary achievement was officially recognized and documented by World Records India, one of India’s premier record-certifying organisations

Born on December 12, 2023, Neil stunned spectators and record officials with his memory and verbal skills that far surpass typical developmental milestones for children his age. He successfully named all state capitals — from Shimla to Bengaluru and from Bhubaneswar to Kohima — with remarkable confidence and accuracy. The attempt was conducted under monitored conditions on the day of the record attempt.

While there are other documented records related to reciting states and capitals — such as older children completing variations of this challenge in significantly faster times — Neil’s accomplishment stands out due to his very young age, making it a standout milestone in early childhood learning and memory.

Educators and parents alike have expressed admiration for Neil’s parents and support system, noting that early exposure to geography and memory exercises can foster exceptional cognitive development even at very young ages.
